Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé are on good terms as of now. The 24-year-old was training with the players who weren’t part of Luis Enrique’s project and didn’t partake in the summer tour in Asia.
Last week the Frenchman integrated himself into the squad. Furthermore, he played in PSG’s 1-1 draw against Toulouse FC last Saturday at Stadium TFC, where he scored off a penalty kick.
The sudden change by Mbappé and PSG has many discussing, including former manager Luis Fernandez, whether an extension can occur. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner holds control over his future. Still, Fernandez is optimistic both sides can find an agreement.
“I think he will continue at PSG, but it is difficult to predict what can happen,” Fernandez told MARCA (h/t RMC Sport). “He has always said that he wanted to go to Real Madrid. It will be difficult for him to do so as a free player, because PSG have a say in this situation.
“They paid him €180 million, they made him a great contract, and they don’t want to lose contact with the player. I think they will find a agreement so that PSG does not leave empty-handed when he leaves.”

If the PSG star decides to extend his contract, seeing how Real Madrid reacts will be interesting. The Spanish club appears reluctant to pay a transfer fee. El Chiringuito host Josep Pedrerol also stated that Mbappé arriving as a free agent is the ideal scenario for Los Blancos.
Will the player arrive for free next summer? Only Mbappé knows, and this saga takes twists that it’s had to determine what will happen next.
