Real Madrid Gave Shocking Response When Carlo Ancelotti Asked for Harry Kane – Report

Real Madrid has a Kylian Mbappé obsession that they will not pivot to a Plan B. The Spanish club wants the Frenchman and reportedly ignored the claims of their manager Carlo Ancelotti to go after a striker.

The Spanish club likely wants to leave any funds to pursue Mbappé as the 24-year-old becomes a free agent next summer. As a result, no high-price striker was coming to replace Karim Benzema, who left for Saudi Arabia.

According to Cadena SER, at the start of the summer, Carlo Ancelotti asked his managers to sign Harry Kane. The club replied that it was “Mbappé or nothing.”

Los Blancos went for an economical striker in Joselu, who isn’t on the level of Kane. While Real Madrid didn’t count on the 33-year-old to replace Benzema, they likely thought it would be a group effort.

However, now that the La Liga side has lost Vinicius Junior to a thigh injury and will miss many games, that decision could be costly. If the Paris Saint-Germain star isn’t at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the gamble could leave many scratching their heads.
