Pedri Shares Thoughts on Ousmane Dembélé’s Exit Rumors from Barcelona

It’s only a matter of time before Ousmane Dembélé officially moves to Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona. The transfer for the 26-year-old has developed quickly, and now that the Spanish club’s summer tour in the United States is over, he can complete his departure.

The Ligue 1 champions will pay €50 million, of which only €25 million will go to the Catalan side. However, they’re reportedly keen on challenging the Frenchman for the other €25 million.

Nonetheless, manager Xavi Hernandez has already addressed the situation. Another player that spoke on the topic was Pedri. The midfielder noted how the winger looks this summer and hoping he remains, although that outlook is bleak.

“Ousmane is a calm and discreet person who doesn’t talk much about this kind of thing,” Pedri told La Vanguardia (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “Personally I have seen him enjoy this pre-season with the team and these years that we have shared. I hope he stays.”

Dembélé’s time with Barcelona appears over and he’ll return to France to fill the shoes likely left behind by Kylian Mbappé, who remains at PSG.

However, the 24-year-old didn’t travel on the summer tour to Asia as the capital club looks to sell their star player before the transfer window closes.
