Ousmane Dembélé’s Agent Made Eye-Popping Salary Demand to Barcelona Before PSG Move – Report

The details regarding the departure of Ousmane Dembélé from FC Barcelona continue to trickle out. Various reports give different stories that have resulted in the Frenchman leaving Camp Nou.

Diario SPORT reports the latest information regarding Dembélé’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, reportedly requesting a substantial contract renewal for the French winger.

According to the Spanish media outlet, Sissoko has asked Barça to consider a deal that would see Dembélé earn more than €40 million gross per year. This spat wasn’t the only financial challenge both parties faced, as there was also the transfer fee.

PSG’s offer of €50 million triggered a release clause, which states that the winger is due half of that financial number.

Barcelona initially tried to persuade the 26-year-old to give up some of that money due to the proximity of the start of the 2023–24 season. Nonetheless, the Catalan side will look to challenge the Frenchman on this front.

The Spanish club will now look to turn the page on Dembélé; meanwhile, PSG hopes a return to France will see the forward reach a level where he can replace Kylian Mbappé.
