Neymar Transfer Rumor: PSG Open to Exit, Barcelona Return Unlikely – Report

Neymar Jr. reportedly wants out of Paris Saint-Germain, and the capital club isn’t going to stand in his way. The 31-year-old’s name has been in the rumor mill, so the Ligue 1 giants likely want to offload his salary.

Relevo’s Matteo Moretto reports that a return to FC Barcelona seems impossible, given the situation’s complexities. The first would be the Brazilian’s wages. He’d likely have to take a massive pay cut to head back to Camp Nou.

As Neymar’s future hangs in the balance, alternative destinations in Saudi Arabia, the Premier League, or even the MLS are being considered. If a move to England happens, it’s likely to Stamford Bridge.

RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reports that Neymar’s camp is having ongoing discussions with Chelsea. Talks between the 31-year-old’s representatives and the Premier League club have been continuous.

Furthermore, the Brazilian’s former agent, André Cury, recently stated that if Neymar ever wants to leave the French capital, he will have to do one thing: Lower his wages.

“Neymar earns a lot of money and I don’t know if there will be a club that can pay him,” Cury said. “To leave, he must lower his salary.

“Today, I don’t see anyone who can pay him what he earns, only clubs in Saudi Arabia. Today the Barcelona option is unfeasible because they can’t afford to pay it.”
