Mauricio Pochettino Reveals How PSG Prepared Him for Chelsea Job

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino took the 2022–23 season off following his sacking. However, after one year away from the game, the Argentine is back and leading Chelsea.

Pochettino is also back at a high-profile job with the Blues. Will the 51-year-old have better success this time around? Who knows, but expect him to be prepared.

The Chelsea Boss noted that his experience in the French capital prepared him for taking over the job with the London-based club.

“I think so, yes, because the experience of being in a dressing room or in training with this type of player makes you more confident,” Pochettino told The Athletic.

“You have to push yourself to be cleverer than you were because managing those players, they are so challenging.”

Chelsea isn’t off to a good start in the Pochettino era. The English club has only one point through two matches and sits 15th in the Premier League table. Nonetheless, they will look to get the first win of the 2023–24 season against Luton Town on Friday at Stamford Bridge.

It will be interesting to see if Pochettino can succeed his second time around at a club where the expectations are to win, especially after how much Chelsea has spent on transfers in the last year.
