Paris Saint-Germain will begin their 2023-24 Ligue 1 season on Saturday with the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga still hanging over them. Nonetheless, manager Luis Enrique was aware of this possibility heading into the managerial job.
L’Equipe reports that the Spanish boss was apprised of the possibility of Kylian Mbappé’s departure from the club before signing his contract. The club’s management informed Enrique that they were preparing to find a solution should Mbappé leave.
In response, Enrique pledged his allegiance to the institution and committed to supporting the decisions taken by the club. Enrique’s stance underscored his professionalism and dedication to PSG’s vision, despite potential challenges.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner decided not to trigger an extension clause in his contract. Due to this action, would have extended his stay at PSG until 2025.
As a result, this decision has fueled speculation that his time at the club might end, especially as rumors linking him to Real Madrid gain traction.
The Spanish giants have yet to make an official offer. Although, it will be interesting to see whether they decide to play the waiting game before sending a bid. However, they could acquire the forward as a free agent next summer.
