Lionel Messi took a dig at Paris Saint-Germain as Inter Miami prepares for the Leagues Cup 2023 final against Nashville SC Sunday. The Argentine spoke to the media before the contest, making remarks about PSG.
Messi responded to a question noting the difference between his arrival at the capital club and Inter Miami. The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner stated that it was a desire to head to South Florida, which wasn’t the case with PSG.
“I’m very happy because it was my choice to come to Inter Miami, unlike Paris, it was a quick decision,” Messi told reporters. “Coming to PSG was neither wanted nor planned. I never wanted to leave Barcelona. It was overnight. (…) It was difficult, but fortunately, it is very different from what is happening to me today in Miami.”
Lionel Messi tacle une nouvelle fois le PSG :

The remarks made by the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner shouldn’t be a surprise. His arrival in Paris always looked like a business decision by all parties involved. The French giants would receive an economic boost from Messi. Meanwhile, he would be with the Ligue 1 giants to prepare for the World Cup in Qatar.
After making these remarks, it will be interesting to see if Messi intends to the Parc des Princes at any point in his post-retirement.
Everyone saw that from miles away. That’s why he got booed at the Parc des Princes. His heart wasn’t in it, neither his professional side.
