Paris Saint-Germain isn’t throwing in the towel regarding a possible Kylian Mbappé contract extension. The latest update in the transfer saga indicates that ownership is intervening to resolve the issue.
As the summer transfer window deadline of Sept. 1 approaches, the capital club may want to assess the situation. If Mbappé stays for this 2023–24 season, PSG risks losing him as a free agent next summer.
Nonetheless, Andrés Onrubia of Diario AS reports that emissaries from Qatar have descended upon Paris to discuss a contract extension with Mbappé’s entourage.
The information reveals that Paris believes they can persuade the 24-year-old to extend his contract, but nothing has been finalized yet.

Mbappé has not publicly stated whether he wants to leave PSG, which adds a mysterious tone to the situation. Qatar intends to ask Mbappé to clearly state his intentions if he is considering leaving.
This condition has emerged as one of the focal points of the recent meeting. The hope is that a transparent conversation can shed light on the direction Mbappé envisions for his career.
If the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner wants to leave before the Sept. 1 transfer deadline, he must inform PSG. If that doesn’t happen, it appears the forward will remain with the Ligue 1 giants this season.
