Real Madrid could be left at the alter for a second straight summer as the Spanish club likely hoped Kylian Mbappé would arrive this transfer window.
When the 24-year-old opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025, all eyes were on Los Blancos to see if they’d make a move. The Frenchman only seems keen on Real Madrid, so many assumed a transfer would happen.
Nonetheless, that hasn’t happened, and with rumors of a possible extension between PSG and Mbappé, El Chiringuito host Josep Pedrerol believes if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner commits to the Ligue 1 giants, it’s time for the La Liga side to move on.
“If he renews with PSG, Madrid must forget about him,” Pedrerol said Wednesday. “He cannot be above the club.”

😤"Si renueva con el PSG, el Madrid debe olvidarse de él. No puede estar por encima del club".

Pedrerol noted that the relationship between Real Madrid and PSG is cold. So it’s why the Spanish giants would prefer to acquire the winger as a free agent and avoid any talks with the capital club.
It will be interesting to see if the Meringues take Pedrerol’s advice and forget the Mbappé file if the player decides to remain in his hometown past this 2023-24 season.
