False Alarm? PSG Denies Rumors of Luis Enrique, Luis Campos Departures – Report

Paris Saint-Germain will always have rumors surrounding the club, whether good or bad. The latest concerns the future of manager Luis Enrique and sporting advisor Luis Campos.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano relayed the remarks from a PSG spokesperson in response to recent rumors circulating in the media. The capital club has firmly denied reports that Enrique and Campos are considering leaving.

Furthermore, CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs reports that those within the club feel these rumors are an attempt to destabilize their squad. Jacobs doesn’t reveal if it’s from the French media or others looking to stir the pot at PSG.

The initial reporting came from L’Equipe and RMC Sport, which revealed that Campos explained that he has no intention of resigning if Kylian Mbappé leaves. However, he will not hang on if the situation becomes untenable.

RMC Sport added that club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is angry with Campos for many reasons. First, the situation with Mbappé and then Al-Khelaifi is not content with the influence and grip of football agent Jorge Mendes in the locker room.

PSG is beginning a new project post-Lionel Messi and likely Mbappé. So the capital club cannot afford to lose Campos and Enrique as they look to build a team capable of returning to dominance in France and winning the UEFA Champions League.
