Fabrizio Romano Shares Latest on Kylian Mbappé-Real Madrid Saga As Deadline Day Nears

Fabrizio Romano provided the news if anyone needed more confirmation that there would be no last-minute bid from Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappé.

After manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Real Madrid’s transfer window is over, Romano shed more light on what’s happening behind the scenes in this saga.

The transfer specialist notes that the message from the Spanish giants was always the same: their star signing for this summer is Jude Bellingham. Currently, there are no negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and Los Blancos for Mbappé.

Furthermore, Romano notes that there are no negotiations with any other club. While it’s all but sure that the 24-year-old will remain in the French capital this 2023-24 season, it doesn’t mean talks over a contract extension are near completion.

“Mbappé is training regularly with PSG,” Romano said. “It’s also true that Mbappé at the moment is not close to extending his contract with PSG but the situation is now way better between PSG and Mbappé than couple of weeks ago.”

It appears that the rumors regarding the future of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will persist until January. At the start of next year, Real Madrid can offer a pre-contract if the player does not extend their current contract by then.
