Will Kylian Mbappé stay at Paris Saint-Germain or go to Real Madrid? The Frenchman’s future has been highly discussed after opting not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025.
Many assumed that the 24-year-old would be on his way to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium this summer. However, will a last-minute bid be incoming with days left until the summer transfer window closes?
Whatever transpires, French national team manager Didier Deschamps has played zero influence in the 2018 FIFA World Champion’s decision.
“The situation was complicated; it’s now normalized,” Deschamps told L’Equipe. “So much the better. Everyone wins. I chatted with him. It’s very good for the French team of course, but also for the club and for him.
“Did I push Mbappé to play again or to reconnect with PSG? No, I’m not getting involved in that. It’s not my role. I discuss with him, as with other players, but it’s their career. I am not an adviser. At most I give them an opinion if they ask me.”

Foot Mercato’s Sébastien Denis reports that a bid from Real Madrid for the Frenchman after PSG’s game against RC Lens this Saturday is not beyond the realm of possibility.
If a move doesn’t occur by Sept. 1, this saga involving all three parties will linger into the season. It will only end if Mbappé publicly announces his departure from PSG as a free agent next summer or extends his contract.
Which will happen? It’s hard to tell with this telenovela-style saga.
