Report Sheds Light on Why Bradley Barcola to Chelsea File Didn’t Happen

Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of landing Olympique Lyonnais winger Bradley Barcola. The capital club has been linked to the 20-year-old for weeks, and now it seems the transfer is over the finish line.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that PSG is closing in on a deal for Bradley Barcola after the €45 million plus 10 percent sell-on clause offer. There are still the final details to fix, and then Barcola will travel to Paris on Thursday.

Now, why is the capital club coming out as the winner in this saga, knowing there’s Premier League interest? Barcola pushed for the move to the French capital rather than going abroad.

According to Sports Zone, Chelsea wanted to beat PSG to the punch for Bradley Barcola, and John Textor tried to sell him to Chelsea, but the Frenchman only wanted to join the rival Ligue 1 side.

The Blues were in on Barcola, but the file reportedly cooled off when Lyon wanted Andrey Santos on loan as part of the deal. Santos went on loan this summer to Nottingham Forest.

Nonetheless, PSG has got their player to improve their attack and have insurance should Ousmane Dembélé get injured this 2023-24 season.
