Chelsea are reportedly in the mix for Olympique Lyonnais winger Bradley Barcola. The 20-year-old is also of interest to Paris Saint-Germain, who wants to revamp their attack after the exits of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. this summer.
The Blues are turning to the Lyon youngster after failing to pursue Michael Olise. After the interest from Chelsea came, Crystal Palace were able to fend off their Premier League rival and sign a new four-year contract.
As a result, the London-based club had to turn to Plan B. Despite Chelsea’s interest in Barcola, ESPN’s Julien Laurens believes that the PSG target heading to Stamford Bridge wouldn’t be the wisest decision.
“For Barcola to go to Chelsea, it would be a very strange career choice with the number of players they have in his position and even in general,” Laurens told After Foot RMC Thursday. “You can’t have 15 players per line; it’s mind-blowing.”

With the summer transfer window deadline nearing, Chelsea and PSG could battle again if either side wants to land Barcola. The Lyon budding star has scored seven goals and registered 12 assists in 45 appearances during his time with the French club.
