A recent rumor involving FC Barcelona sending Gavi to Paris Saint-Germain might have ruffled the Spanish international. No one likes seeing their name in the transfer rumor mill, so the Catalan side had to do damage control.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona manager Xavi has taken a proactive step to reassure young talent Gavi about his role within the team. In a meeting between the two, Xavi reiterated Gavi’s significance and conveyed that he considers him an untouchable player in his plans.
This move came in response to Gavi’s reported distress over rumors suggesting a potential offer from Barcelona to PSG. According to the information from France, the Spanish giants would offer Gavi, Ousmane Dembélé and Raphinha for Kylian Mbappé.

However, Barcelona vehemently denies wanting to give up the midfielder. While Gavi isn’t going anywhere, Dembélé is. The 26-year-old winger is on the verge of joining PSG after the Ligue 1 giants triggered his €50 million release clause.
As a result, the Frenchman is likely hours away from officially joining PSG and returning to France.
