After much delay, the Ousmane Dembélé transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain inches toward finalization. The capital club will soon wrap up the last step to have the 26-year-old join the squad.
French football journalist Abdellah Boulma reports that the French winger will undergo a medical examination. As for the date, Boulma adds that the test will occur either on Thursday or Friday morning.

Barcelona’s Director of Football, Mateu Alemany, officially confirmed Dembélé’s transfer to PSG. So now it’s a matter of time until the Frenchman returns to France.
“Dembélé asked to leave,” Alemany said. “The contract he had included this circumstance if he wanted to leave. We are in the process of negotiating with PSG.”
It’s unlikely that the forward will play in PSG’s 2023-24 Ligue 1 opener against FC Lorient on Saturday at the Parc des Princes. However, there’s a likely chance that Dembélé could be presented to supporters at the stadium.
Dembélé’s PSG debut could come on Aug. 19 when the squad travels on the road to face Toulouse FC. It will be interesting to see if he can stay healthy and help replace the production left behind by Lionel Messi and likely Kylian Mbappé.
