Barcelona Director Alemany Confirms Ousmane Dembélé’s Move to Paris

Paris Saint-Germain can begin to close one transfer saga. After days of delay, the capital club will finally have Ousmane Dembélé join their squad ahead of their 2023-24 Ligue 1 season beginning Saturday.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano related the remarks by Barcelona’s Director of Football, Mateu Alemany, who officially confirmed Dembélé’s transfer to PSG.

Furthermore, Alemany added that all parties finalized the deal, with all the necessary paperwork awaiting signatures.

“Dembélé asked to leave,” Alemany said. “The contract he had included this circumstance if he wanted to leave. We are in the process of negotiating with PSG.”

Dembélé’s move to PSG will mark a significant transition for the player as he embarks on a new chapter in his career with the French club. Additionally, the 26-year-old will have to shoulder some of the responsibility of replacing Kylian Mbappé’s production.

It will be interesting to see whether the Frenchman will play his first game back in Ligue 1 this Saturday or occur on Aug. 19 when PSG travels to face Toulouse FC. Nonetheless, with Mbappé likely gone, the French giants have secured his replacement.
