FC Barcelona will receive €50 million for Ousmane Dembélé as it’s only a matter of time until the Frenchman heads to Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Spanish club will only receive €25 million, as the other half belongs to the player.
Nonetheless, the Catalan side will reportedly battle the winger over the other half to secure the entire amount. Journalist Ferran Correas reports that Barcelona challenges the validity of the French forward’s claim for half of the €50 million release clause.
Barcelona asserts that the release clause was negotiated based on certain performance-related conditions. As a result, the club argues that Dembélé allegedly did not meet during his tenure at Camp Nou.

The situation has put both parties on the brink of a legal battle, with Barcelona indicating its willingness to contest Dembélé’s claim. It will be interesting to see if the two sides go to court or settle the situation.
Nonetheless, manager Xavi Hernandez confirmed the offer and exit. The Spanish boss appears to have shown some emotions as he wanted Dembélé to remain with Barcelona. Still, the 26-year-old is ready to begin a new challenge—meanwhile, Xavi and Co. will need to replace his production.
