PSG Turns to Randal Kolo Muani as Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen Pursuits Fade – Report

Paris Saint-Germain needs a No. 9 this summer, and there’s a shift after links to Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane. The capital club is now changing its attention to Randal Kolo Muani.

Le Parisien (h/t Paris Fans) reported on Monday that the Frenchman is now the No. 1 target for the striker role. The development to pursue Kolo Muani comes after the files for Kane and Osimhen appear to be losing momentum.

Likely, PSG wants to avoid paying the high prices that Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur are asking for. Furthermore, Kane reportedly prefers a move to Bayern Munich if the English striker moves abroad.

The pursuit of Kolo Muani also indicates PSG’s determination to address their need for a consistent goal-scoring threat at the center-forward position. Kylian Mbappé, should he stay, doesn’t want to play that role anymore, so it explains the demand.

Despite boasting an array of attacking talent, including Neymar Jr. and Mbappé, PSG has been searching for a traditional No. 9. The capital club wants someone who can lead the line and provide a reliable source of goals.

Kolo Muani reportedly sees a project at PSG with the pending hiring of Luis Enrique as manager. While the Eintracht Frankfurt star checks off all the boxes, the club wants to ensure he’d come motivated back to Ligue 1.

The Qatar ownership wants to give the capital club a more French identity. Kolo Muani could join Lucas Hernandez as the second talent from France to join PSG this summer.
