PSG Targets AC Milan Legend as Potential Sporting Director, Replacing Luis Campos – Report

Paris Saint-Germain has Luis Campos in charge of building the squad. However, the Portuguese club chief isn’t a full-time employee as he occupies an advisor role.

Nonetheless, if the capital club wants to hire someone dedicated to the position Paolo Maldini has his name in the mix. Corriere dello Sport reports that PSG are eyeing a move for Maldini as their new sporting director in the event of Campos’ departure.

Maldini recently left his position as AC Milan’s sporting director. Reports suggest that the Italian exited due to disagreements with the board regarding investment strategy and recruitment approach.

If Maldini were to join PSG, he would be stepping into a club known for its financial prowess and the ability to attract top talents. The 55-year-old helped the Serie A giants end an 11-year league title drought as AC Milan lifted the trough in 2021.

Additionally, the Rossoneri reached the UEFA Champions League semifinals this 2022-23 season but fell to Inter Milan. Under Maldini’s watch, AC Milan added quality players such as Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leão, and Mike Maignan.

Should Campos decide to leave or PSG wants someone full-time dedicated to the role, Maldini would be an interesting choice.
