Paris Saint-Germain might receive a transfer boost in pursuing a No. 9 striker this summer. The capital club is in the mix for Atalanta BC’s Rasmus Højlund; however, they face a challenge.
Manchester United is also in the race for the promising Danish talent. Still, L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi reports that the Red Devils doubt their capability to meet Atalanta’s transfer cost demands for Højlund.
Tanzi adds that PSG has already been able to discuss figures with Höjlund’s agent. Furthermore, the outlines of a long-term contract won’t be hard to reach. The Ligue 1 giants are reportedly willing to pay €60 million for the 20-year-old.

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini addressed Højlund’s future. He stated that the club intends to recoup a significant haul for their young striker. As a result, that might be a problem for the Premier League club.
“I don’t know whether he’ll stay or leave — but I hope the club will value Højlund around €80, 90 or 100 million fee,” Gasperini told Sky Sports News. “Rasmus is one of the best — if not the best — emerging talent in Europe as a striker.”
Manchester United reportedly had hoped to swiftly move to land Højlund to avoid this scenario of a PSG hijack. Now it seems that the worst scenario has become a reality.
