Paris Saint-Germain continues to put Kylian Mbappe in a position where the 24-year-old has to decide on his future. The capital club left their star player off the squad heading to Japan and will phase him out if he’s not sold this summer.
Mbappe began this transfer saga when he opted not to trigger his option to extend his contract until 2025. PSG is now in a position in which it cannot allow the Frenchman to leave as a free agent next summer.
However, PSG has to play hardball if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner isn’t keen on extending his contract or is unwilling to leave on a transfer. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reports Mbappe is part of the loft, meaning he is not part of the project and will not play this season.

The Ligue 1 giants are open for business for any club looking to acquire the Mbappe. Even Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal is lurking to land the player despite it likely being a one-season rental.
The relationship between Mbappe and PSG is souring before our eyes. As a result, it would be ideal for all parties involved to part ways, and each begin a new chapter.
PSG can start its post-Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe era under new manager Luis Enrique. Meanwhile, the club’s all-time leading goal scorer can head to Real Madrid and continue his career there.
