Ousmane Dembélé appears closer to Paris Saint-Germain and further away from FC Barcelona. Due to his release clause, the 26-year-old’s name has been rumors linking him to the capital club.
Dembélé has a €50 million release clause that expires on Monday at midnight. Afterward, it will jump to €100 million. Nonetheless, Le Parisien reports that PSG and those in the player’s camp fear that Barcelona will drag the process.
It’s in the Spanish club’s best interest not to stop this deal before midnight since they’d only receive €25 million of the fee. However, some reports state that both parties could open talks over a transfer.

As for the personal terms, Dembélé and PSG have agreed on a five-year contract with a €20 million salary plus bonuses. So it all comes down to is whether the capital club can beat time and trigger the release clause.
It isn’t the end of the world if they cannot do so, but paying €50 million for a player of the Frenchman’s caliber is economically ideal for the Ligue 1 champions.
