Arsenal Transfer Blow? PSG Activates Xavi Simons’ Buy-Back Clause – Report

Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly taken the first step to return Xavi Simons to the capital club.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed on Wednesday that PSG informed PSV Eindhoven that they will trigger Simons’ €6 million buy-back clause. PSG is now actively pursuing negotiations with the Dutchman, who holds the final decision on his future.

Simons flourished in his first year with PSV after leaving Paris last summer. The youngster split time as an attacking midfielder and left-wing last season. He scored 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions.

Nonetheless, the Ligue 1 giants face competition for the 20-year-old. Arsenal has emerged as another potential destination for Simons. The London club has been monitoring the youngster’s progress and is keen to add him to their ranks.

As negotiations unfold, Simons will assess the sporting opportunities, development prospects, and potential playing time each club offers. The final decision will likely hinge on his ambitions and his desire to make a significant impact at this stage of his career.
