A striker target could be slipping through Paris Saint-Germain’s hands. The capital club has seen its name in connection to Atalanta BC’s Rasmus Højlund. Still, Manchester United is moving to ensure they land the Danish talent.
Højlund has caught the eye of two massive European clubs needing a No. 9 ahead of the 2023-24 season. Furthermore, the 20-year-old has plenty of room to grow. So it comes as no surprise that PSG and Manchester United hope to secure the Atalanta star.
Nonetheless, Manchester United knows it has to act fast to avoid a bidding war with PSG. The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported on Tuesday that the Red Devils have made a verbal offer of €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons to Atalanta.
🚨 Man Utd make verbal offer to Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund. €50m + €10m. #Atalanta want €70m+. Personal terms in place, talks ongoing, optimism of striking deal, other options if needed. PSG still in race @TheAthleticFC after @FabrizioRomano #MUFC #PSG https://t.co/p063G7t0u9

Additionally, Ornstein notes that the Denmark international has indicated to Atalanta that he wants to leave. As for PSG, the Ligue 1 champions remain in the race for the striker, per The Athletic journalist.
If Atalanta rejects this offer, it might open the door for PSG to begin putting the wheels in motion for a swoop.
