New PSG manager Luis Enrique has shed light on the potential role of Neymar Jr. in his project at the Parisian club.
Enrique spoke about the Brazilian forward’s future during his introductory press conference. The Spanish manager previously coached Neymar during their time together at FC Barcelona, so there’s a connection.
Nonetheless, the 53-year-old likely wants to see how Neymar is recovering from his ankle injury that ended his 2022-23 season.
“I haven’t spoken with Neymar yet,” Enrique told reporters Wednesday. “If he should be part of my project? This kind of information I would like to give it to you, but it is part of an internal information.
“I will make decisions after seeing them train, after seeing how they behave … PSG’s squad is of a very high level. There will be a new era. We will install an attacking style that will appeal to the supporters.”
