Lionel Messi Reveals Excitement for Inter Miami Move Following PSG Exit

Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi is excited as he embarks on a new journey with Inter Miami CF to continue his career. Messi left Paris Saint-Germain and European football after his contract expired on June 30.

The 36-year-old will now focus on attempting to lift Inter Miami out of last place in the Easter Conference.

“I’m very excited, very happy to be here in Miami with you,” Messi said (h/t 90min). “I want to thank Jorge [Mas], Jose [Mas], David [Beckham], his family for their welcome, the kindness they’ve shown these days. They’ve made us feel at home so quickly, they made it so easy. It’s been spectacular for us since we got here.”

The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner’s move to Inter Miami has generated immense buzz and anticipation among soccer fans in the US. Messi’s arrival is a watershed moment for the MLS, further elevating the league’s profile and attracting global attention.

“I’m arriving with the same desire I’ve always had: to compete, to want to win, to want to help the club keep growing,” Messi added. “Personally, I have no doubts my teammates and I will always give our best to try to achieve all of our goals.”

“I’ll take a moment to salute my teammates, who are here, for the welcome they gave me and the kindness they’ve shown since the first day as well.”

Inter Miami, co-owned by David Beckham, has shown great ambition since joining the MLS in 2020. Adding Messi to the squad signifies the club’s commitment to building a successful team and achieving significant milestones.

Now that the arrival and festivities have come and gone, it’s time for Messi and Co. to get to work. A move to Inter Miami will be deemed a success if the Argentine lifts trophies.
