Real Madrid likely understands they’re in the driver’s seat for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé this summer. The Spanish club is the preferred choice, so they have leverage in this saga.
While PSG looks to offload the player this summer, Real Madrid will only be willing to spend what is necessary. The La Liga side doesn’t have to make an offer that makes them uncomfortable. Mbappé is a free agent next year, and they can play the waiting game.
MARCA’s Carlos Carpio says that PSG has set an astronomical asking price of €250 million for the French superstar. However, it’s a figure that exceeds what Real Madrid is currently willing to pay.
Furthermore, negotiations between the two clubs are currently being conducted through intermediaries. The two clubs’ relationship isn’t the best.

As a result, they need outside intervention to find common ground that will allow Mbappé’s dream move to Real Madrid to materialize.
The days pass, and PSG’s management is determined to find a way to convince Mbappé to join another team or make the long-rumored move to Real Madrid.
