FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta has addressed the recent rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain’s reported interest in Ousmane Dembélé.
A recent report revealed that should Kylian Mbappé depart during the current summer transfer window, PSG would pursue Dembélé. As a result, the Spanish media wants to know what Laporta has to say about this rumor.
“We had this fear last year and it didn’t happen,” Laporta said. “Dembélé wants to stay at Barça and I don’t think he wants to go to any team.”

With ongoing speculation surrounding Mbappé’s future and his rumored interest in joining Real Madrid, PSG must find a replacement or two. So it’s no surprise the capital club sees Dembélé as an adequate replacement.
Nonetheless, the Spanish club wants to do everything to ensure the Frenchman carves out a career at Camp Nou. Barcelona’s stance reflects their confidence in Dembélé’s abilities and desire to retain his services.
Despite his injury struggles over the years, the club views Dembélé as a valuable asset and a player key to Xavi Hernandez’s starting 11. While the 26-year-old is an intriguing target, it seems that rumor isn’t gaining any steam.
