Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler isn’t the only one on the team excited to have Lionel Messi come to South Florida. The soon-to-be former Paris Saint-Germain star intends to sign with Inter Miami once his contract expires on June 30.
Before Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra shared similar opinions on Messi’s move to MLS, even planning to take their sons to some Inter Miami contests in the future.
“It’s exciting,” Spoelstra told reporters. “My two sons, they’re just getting into soccer, so— football. Hopefully, I can get a ticket and take them to some games.”
