The future of Kylian Mbappé remains uncertain as the 24-year-old opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025. As a result, he can leave as a free agent next summer.
Rumors have swelled about whether PSG is open to selling Mbappé this summer and recouping a fee for their star player. A transfer fee for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner would allow them to hit the rebuild on their project and further build a well-rounded squad.
Nonetheless, Mbappé wants to end the rumors as RMC Sport reported on Wednesday that the French star intends to stay at the club this summer.
The PSG forward does not say anything else in private and looks determined to wear the Paris kit for the 2023-24 season. PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos also wants to calm the situation.
Campos reportedly told Mbappé that he would do everything to build the best possible team around him. At the same time, exchanges took place between club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Fayza Lamari, the France international’s mother.
It will be interesting to see if PSG wants to go through another year with rumors surrounding the team over Mbappé’s future.
The Real Madrid chatter has begun and even current players are being asked about PSG’s all-time leading goal scorer replacing Karim Benzema.
