Bernardo Silva appears to be one of the top targets for Paris Saint-Germain this summer transfer window. However, getting the player out of Manchester City will be challenging.
First, Silva has a contract until 2025, and the Premier League club isn’t planning to give away the player for a generous fee. The next hurdle now is that a Saudi Arabian club could be in the mix.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported on Monday Silva has received a lucrative opportunity to be the latest player to join the Saudi Pro League.
Nonetheless, Ornstein does add that the 2023 UEFA Champions League winner is expected to turn down the possibility of moving to Saudi Arabia. Still, he is considering all options, including interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
The Saudi Arabian league wants to make a statement by bringing in Silva, who’s coming off winning the treble with Manchester City. Still, the Portugal international would favor continuing to play in Europe over accepting the potential Saudi Arabia switch.
It will be interesting to see if PSG does overcome all these hurdles to ensure they land the 28-year-old.
