Rumor Has It: Galtier Poised to Take Reins at Serie A Champions Napoli

Paris Saint-Germain has moved on from Christophe Galtier, but the French tactician might not be out of a job for long.

Last year, the capital club sacked Mauricio Pochettino, who opted to play the waiting game. The Argentine manager is now in charge of Chelsea. However, Galtier is taking a different approach as he’s jumping right back into a coaching gig.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tuesday that Galtier is the favorite to land the Napoli job. Despite Napoli winning the 2022-23 Serie A title, Luciano Spalletti left the job.

Galtier took his first crack at managing a club like PSG, where the expectations are high, but it didn’t work. Perhaps going to a club like Napoli will allow Galtier to thrive and build off their success this past season.

Meanwhile, PSG is looking for a new coach to replace the French gaffer, with Julian Nagelsmann as the primary candidate. The German tactician is coming off beating the 2022-23 Ligue 1 champions to advance to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals before his sacking.

It seems both parties can rebound if the reporting is accurate.
