The future of Kylian Mbappé at Paris Saint-Germain is uncertain. The 24-year-old has one more year left on his contract after the French star opted not to trigger his option to extend his contract until 2025.
Furthermore, once the news of Mbappé’s decision surfaced, all eyes went to Real Madrid. The Spanish club has been obsessed with bringing the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to the Casa Blanca.
Amid the rumors, Brazilian international Rodrygo spoke with reporters and weighed in on the possible pursuit of the France international.
“For me, 10, because he’s a phenomenon, he’s one of the best players in the world and we know that we need a player there, in the position he likes to play,” Rodrygo said (h/t MARCA) when asked how excited he’d be by Mbappé joining Real Madrid on a scale of one to 10.
“I’d be very excited if Mbappe came, but he has a contract in Paris and we have to respect that. The sooner [he joins] the better, but if Mbappe can’t come now, there are other players. Florentino [Perez] and [Carlo] Ancelotti will decide what’s best for Real Madrid.”
Mbappé has expressed his desire to remain with PSG for the 2023-24 season but has not said anything about staying past next season. As a result, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are put in a spot where they must listen to offers since a transfer fee will go a long way in rebuilding the team.
The summer transfer window has just opened and it seems that the Mbappé saga will be the one that many are going to follow.
