PSG Targets Paqueta: Another Blow for West Ham? – Report

Paris Saint-Germain could be keen on finding their next superstar player should Kylian Mbappé leave the capital club this summer transfer window. As a result, Neymar Jr. could remain, and the 31-year-old could have Lucas Paqueta join him.

90min reported on Tuesday that PSG is closely monitoring the situation of the West Ham United star. Despite recently helping West Ham secure the UEFA Conference League title and ending their 43-year trophy drought, the Brazilian midfielder could be open to leaving the English club.

Paqueta recently changed his representatives, fueling speculation about a potential exit. The Brazilian joined West Ham last summer from Olympique Lyonnais. However, he reportedly wasn’t entirely satisfied with the team’s performance in the Premier League.

The Hammers finished in 14th place, narrowly avoiding relegation. This disappointing league position may have contributed to Paqueta’s desire to seek new opportunities elsewhere.

Paqueta has showcased his talents and versatility, making him a key figure in West Ham’s midfield. His departure would leave a void that would need to be filled, adding to the challenges faced by the club in the upcoming season.

Furthermore, West Ham could face another major setback this summer with the potential departure of Declan Rice. The English midfielder has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester City. If a transfer materialized, it would further deplete the team’s midfield options.

Losing both Paqueta and Rice would require West Ham to invest heavily in recruiting suitable replacements to maintain their competitiveness.
