As the summer transfer window gains momentum, Kylian Mbappé’s future remains uncertain. The 24-year-old opted not to trigger his option to extend his contract until 2025.

The rumors linking Mbappé to Real Madrid have begun to swirl. Nonetheless, Paris Saint-Germain feels this power move from the forward isn’t to go to the Spanish giants.

According to The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana, PSG has not ruled out that Mbappé’s public stance is a strategic move. Cortegana adds that the Frenchman might eye to strengthen his negotiating position for a potential contract extension.

Mbappé’s contract situation has been a hot topic in the footballing world. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner’s contract expires next summer, so he holds much negotiating power.

Real Madrid, long regarded as the frontrunner for Mbappé’s signature, now must be patient again. Los Blancos reportedly don’t see the PSG star leaving this summer.

The Spanish side eagerly pursues the Frenchman, hoping to secure his services and reinforce their attacking lineup. It will be interesting to see if Mbappé does decide to leave as a free agent.

Should he do so, Real Madrid will be waiting with open arms. However, if Mbappé were to spurn them again, the reaction won’t be kind.
