PSG Coach Galtier and Son Surprisingly Detained in Discrimination Probe

Soon-to-be former Paris Saint-Germain Christophe Galtier finds himself in legal trouble. RMC Sport reported on Friday that Galtier and his son John Valovic-Galtier are in police custody in Nice.

The public prosecutor announced that the two Galtier’s arrest stems from an investigation into suspicions of discrimination at OGC Nice. Galtier had been summoned this morning by the investigators in charge of the case.

Regarding the charges, the French manager is facing accusations of racism. More precisely, discrimination based on an alleged race or belonging to a religion. He will now have to respond to these investigators from the Nice judicial police.

Police custody allows investigators to have the person at their disposal for a limited period (24 hours). At the end of this police custody, the person can be released or brought before the court to decide on the legal action.

Contacted by AFP, Christophe Galtier’s lawyer did not respond immediately. The public prosecutor of Nice said Friday morning that he would say more by press release at the end of the day.
