Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema will leave the Spanish club after 14 seasons. The 35-year-old scored in his final game, a 1-1 draw against Athletic Club on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Benzema has received heartwarming farewell messages from Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe, who posted an image with a quick note on his Instagram story Sunday.
The 27-year-old was teammates with the Real Madrid star during the 2020 UEFA Euros and were scheduled to be teammates for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but injuries prevented that.
Now that Benzema has closed his chapter with Los Blancos, he’s expected to sign for Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad to continue his football career outside Europe.
