Lionel Messi intends to sign with Inter Miami once his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30. Afterward, the 35-year-old will head to South Florida to begin this next chapter in his career and away from Europe.
Nonetheless, his soon-to-be former teammate at PSG, Neymar Jr., has high hopes for the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner playing in the United States. Additionally, the Brazilian believes that Messi will be the player that takes MLS to another level.
“I believe the league will become a lot more popular,” Neymar said. “So everyone has to take advantage and enjoy watching [Lionel Messi] play because, unfortunately, nothing lasts forever.”

If MLS wants to benefit from the arrival of Messi to the United States, then they have to hope Inter Miami constructs a team that can challenge for the league title and in international competitions.
The South Florida-based club has the entire summer transfer window to construct a team to help Messi win. Inter Miami currently sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, so they have a lot of work to do with the Argentine arriving in a few weeks.
