Mauro Icardi has been one of the Paris Saint-Germain players on loan that has stirred up a market with his performance at Galatasaray, helping the club win the 2022-23 Süper Lig title.
The Turkish giants will want to keep the Argentine, who scored 23 goals and registered eight assists this season, as they prepare a squad to compete in the UEFA Champions League in the 2023-24 season.
However, Galatasaray faces competition as TyC Sports reported (h/t RMC Sport) that AS Roma could soon make an offer for the Argentine striker, who’s under contract at PSG until 2024.
Transfermarkt puts Icardi’s value at €18 million and if the capital club can recoup that amount or even higher would be a win for sporting advisor Luis Campos to grab for a player who has no future at PSG.
It will be interesting to see if Galatasaray will spend big to keep their striker and improve their squad to advance to the knockout stages.
