Luis Enrique Asked About the Future of Kylian Mbappé Amid Real Madrid Rumors – Report

If Paris Saint-Germain does hire Luis Enrique as their next manager, he will be thrust into the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga.

Mbappé opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025. As a result, rumors exist that the 24-year-old could leave this summer transfer window rather than play out the final year of his contract.

SPORT reported on Friday that Enrique has inquired about the future of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, and the response from the Qataris owners is that Mbappé will only leave if a significant offer arrives or if the player himself presses.

Additionally, PSG hopes the new coach can help resolve the situation, with their attacking options already being affected by Messi’s departure. Enrique will be a power figure for a PSG side accustomed to ‘trouble’ off the pitch.

While Real Madrid is cited as the logical destination for Mbappé, the Spanish club remains cautious with this file. After being spurned in 2022, it seems Los Blancos might have learned their lesson with the French star.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what Enrique feels, whether he’s keen on seeing Mbappé exit for a significant fee or roll the dice and have the player stay, knowing he can leave as a free agent.
