The left-footed center-back position needs improving, with Presnel Kimpembe missing the start of the 2023-24 season and having an uncertain future at Paris Saint-Germain. As a result, talks for Lucas Hernandez have intensified.
Sport Bild reported (h/t Canal Supporters) on Friday that PSG has hit overdrive in their interest in the 27-year-old defender, initiating talks with Bayern Munich to secure his services during this summer transfer window.
Furthermore, PSG established the first official contact with Bayern Munich to negotiate the transfer of Hernandez to Paris. The talks are underway, but no written offer has been made.
The German giants would like to recover more than €50 million on this file, in particular, because the replacement for the Frenchman would have been found in Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae.
Hernandez, a French international, joined Bayern Munich in 2019 from Atletico Madrid. Since then, he has played a crucial role in the club’s success, contributing to their numerous domestic and European triumphs.
Nonetheless, this transfer does come with a red flag, as the defender has recently dealt with various injuries. The most recent knock is a Cruciate Ligament Rupture that Hernandez suffered at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
