Key Reason Why Julian Nagelsmann Won’t Join PSG, Sergio Conceiçao Track Cooled?

Paris Saint-Germain’s managerial search has been ongoing with a carousel of candidates. Julian Nagelsmann appeared to be the leading contender for the job; however, the German boss will not be arriving in the French capital.

Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna reported on Saturday details that resulted in Nagelsmann and PSG going their separate ways. The former Bayern Munich boss told his interviewers that he had to be “convinced of the Parisian project” to sign.

According to the French media outlet, sporting advisor Luis Campos would have been involved in negotiations.

The Portuguese club chief had even traveled to Montenegro, Nagelsmann’s vacation spot, to exchange and submit a list of targeted players. Some players were waiting for the arrival of Nagelsmann to join Paris.

Sergio Conceiçao Cooling Down?

After various reports discarded the Nagelsmann file, a random name, FC Porto manager Sergio Conceiçao, popped up. The Portuguese manager had been linked to the capital club to replace Mauricio Pochettino last summer.

However, A Bola reported on Saturday that if PSG wants Conceiçao, the 2022-23 Ligue 1 champions would need to pay €18 million, the total amount in his release clause.
