Paris Saint-Germain could be a team to watch if William Saliba wants to exit Arsenal this summer. Saliba’s contract expires in 2024 and CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs revealed the latest regarding the French defender.
Jacobs notes that PSG’s new transfer philosophy could threaten the Gunners to lose Saliba. In addition, the capital club has reportedly destabilized Bayern Munich’s contract extension talks with Lucas Hernandez and they may do the same to Arsenal.
The Ligue 1 side will be in the market for another right-footed defender now that Sergio Ramos confirmed on Twitter that he will be leaving the French capital as his contract with PSG expires on June 30 and he will become a free agent.
“PSG have a very new model and philosophy to buy young and, where possible, to buy French,” Jacobs told Give Me Sport.
“Saliba ticks both boxes. Given the fact that he likes playing in France, and that I think he was only born about six kilometers from the center of Paris, his head could potentially be turned if nothing is resolved with Arsenal.”

While Jacobs states that PSG can be a threat to Arsenal locking up the 22-year-old to a contract extension before his contract expires, the CBS Sports reporter believes that the London-based club will sign an extension.
“I expect Arsenal to get that done, so I certainly wouldn’t fearmonger and suggest that somebody is going to be able to prise him away,” Jacobs continued. “But it’s still something that Arsenal have to address in order to secure him as part of their project because he’s proven so vital this season.”
