FC Barcelona might be confused regarding Lionel Messi’s desire to have his future all set even before his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires on June 30.
Jijantes FC journalist Albert Rogé reported on Monday that there’s a lack of understanding from his perspective as to why the Argentine is in a rush to settle his future.
Even if La Liga approves Barcelona’s financial package, they still need time to offload players so they can register him.
“Barça cannot register Messi until July 1st since his contract with PSG runs until June 30th,” Rogé said. “So, it doesn’t make sense to be in such a hurry when there is still practically a month left until the transfer market officially opens.”

The Argentine likely wants to settle his future before the summer months begin and avoid what happened in 2021. However, Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal and MLS side Inter Miami have their offer on the tables.
Perhaps Messi knows these two clubs are putting tempting offers but wants guarantees from Barcelona, who are asking him to wait. It will be interesting to see whether the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner does stay patient or if a reunion with the Spanish club isn’t occurring.
