The Paris Saint-Germain is adding a boost to their backline with Lucas Hernandez. Presnel Kimpembe is out to start the 2023-24 season, so the capital club needed a left-foot defender.
According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, Hernandez underwent a successful medical examination.
The Italian journalist notes that PSG and Bayern Munich have reportedly agreed on a transfer fee of approximately €45 million. However, the additional add-ons are yet to be confirmed.

Hernandez’s versatility and defensive prowess make him an ideal addition to PSG’s backline. The acquisition will furth improve the Ligue 1 side as they aim to secure domestic and European success.
While Hernandez has the talent to be a top defender, his injury history is concerning. The 27-year-old is coming off a torn ACL he suffered at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
PSG is taking a gamble on the Frenchman to ensure he stays healthy. If Hernandez remains fit, the move will look like an intelligent decision. Still, there’s the possibility of his injury history following him, which would be catastrophic.
