Gianluigi Donnarumma is hoping to see Christophe Galtier remain on as manager of Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking after PSG’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Clermont Foot, Donnarumma offered his stamp of approval to Galtier after the French manager completed his first season with the reigning France top-flight champions.
“We’re asking a lot of the coach, it’s a good group, and we’re all with him,” Donnarumma said. “We don’t know anything about what’s coming next, but let’s hope he keeps going because he can give a lot to the club. … I hope he can stay with us because he’s a great manager who still has a lot to show.
“There have been a lot of complicated things this season for us.”
Galtier’s future at PSG has been up in the air for months. From Galtier’s standpoint, he is hoping to manage the reigning Ligue 1 champions next season. He said during a post-match press conference following PSG’s away match against Strasbourg that he “deserves” to remain as the team’s manager.
PSG has reportedly already made a call on this matter, as RMC Sport recently noted that the club does not plan to bring Galtier back for next season.
Galtier won two trophies during his first season as PSG manager.
