When news broke that Kylian Mbappé would not be exercising his option to extend his contract to 2025, many zoomed in on Real Madrid and whether or not they’d make a move for the 24-year-old.
However, Mbappé saw the wrath of Real Madrid fans when he opted to sign a new contract with PSG rather than head to the Spanish capital. As a result, a move for the France international would need to come with a gesture from the player.
MARCA’s Pablo Polo explained that the supporters of Los Blancos could be forgiving if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner should he arrive this summer transfer window.
“It’s true that it’s already much calmer,” Polo said Tuesday (h/t RMC Sport). “If I had been asked this question just after his extension, I would have said that it was complicated and that it was hot.
“It is true that, perhaps for Real and the supporters, it will take a gesture. We can imagine Kylian Mbappé doing or saying something about Real. I think Real and the fans will accept it.”
Mbappé breaks his silence over a summer exit
The news world went ablaze after the rumors that Mbappé won’t be exercising his option to extend his contract. However, the PSG star quickly went on the offensive and stated his desire not to leave the French giants this summer.
“LIES… At the same time the bigger it is the more it passes,” Mbappé tweeted. “I’ve already said that I’m going to continue next season at PSG, where I’m very happy.”
En même temps plus c’est gros plus ça passe. J’ai déjà dis que je vais continuer la saison prochaine au PSG où je suis très heureux. https://t.co/QTsoBQvZKU
