Report: PSG’s Projected Starting 11 vs. Troyes – Who Will Replace Messi?

Paris Saint-Germain has had quite a roller-coaster past couple of days, and it will now turn its attention to a Ligue 1 away fixture against Troyes coming up on matchday 34.

PSG will be without a total of six players for this match, including Lionel Messi and Nuno Mendes. The Argentine forward was reportedly handed a two-week suspension by the club for taking an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, Mendes has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a right hamstring injury.

As noted by Ligue 1’s official website, here is how PSG could line up against Troyes on Sunday.

Donnarumma; Marquinhos, Ramos, Danilo; Soler, Vitinha, Fabian, Verratti, Bernat; Ekitike, Mbappe

Marquinhos did not have much to go his way in PSG’s Ligue 1 home defeat to Lorient last week. He watched as Lorient scored three goals in the match, and he won a mere two ground duels. He sure will look to orchestrate a bounce-back performance against Troyes on Sunday.

With Messi ruled out for this fixture due to his reported suspension, PSG manager Christophe Galtier could call on Hugo Ekitike to fill the Argentine’s spot in the team’s go-to 3-5-2 formation. Ekitike has tallied six goal contributions in 21 total appearances in Ligue 1 this season.

PSG has won nine out of its last 10 meetings against Troyes in league play.
